NeuBop was created  to satisfy a broad range of situations ranging from ambient to concert.   Originally NeuBop came about as a jazz form which was a contraction of New Age and Bebop.  New Age music’s rapid growth indicates a strong need in the world for beautiful and accessible music.  Bebop on the other hand, diminished in popularity as it became more of a musicians music, increasingly difficult to play and for much of the public to understand.

After many years of performing it became clear that accessibility, spontaneity and virtuosity were usually not found on the same bandstand.

Additionally economic pressures forced many club and restaurant owners to turn away from live music and to embrace recordings in order to provide that all so important musically engaging sensory input their customers expected and needed.

NeuBop provides emotionally engaging, accessible, improvisational music which  also encourages virtuosity.  Every performance is created to be the sound track for the situation.  This requires all NeuBop artists to be both performers and composers are so attuned to each other and their surroundings that audience members usually comment on the “telepathic” synchronization and dialog which ensues between performers and the audience.
